Cefuroxime 500 mg Tablets – A division of cephalosporin antibiotics, Cefuroxime is an antibiotic that is used to treat certain skin infections caused by bacteria such as gonorrhea (a sexually transmitted disease), bronchitis (infections of the airway tubes), Lyme disease (infections that occur after bitten by a tick), pharyngitis, sinusitis, otitis media, infections of the skin, sinuses, throat, ears, tonsils, and urinary tract. It is offered by the brand name ABISEF at Abiba Pharmacia.

Cefuroxime works by killing the bacteria and preventing them to form a cell wall; a bacteria protective covering that is needed for the survival of bacteria in the body. This medication is also used to prevent infections occurred after surgery.

The dosage of the medication is based on the medical condition and response to therapy. Take this medicine daily twice a day after every two hours. It is advised to take this medicine with food to reduce the risks of stomach upset and increase absorption.
